Just began and now it’s coming to an end
Close that door don’t want nobody coming in
feel your grasp and now I know what’s happenin
I’ll be safe here
Cold dark stares
As I’m walking the other path
No one there
I turned my head and body back
Do you care
That I’m falling into the cracks
And you wonder
Why I’m all outa pain
Why I’m feeling nothing
Why I’m all outa pain
Story time you’ll never guess what I just saw
A broken man that used to wanna have it all
Now he’s left wishing that everything thing would fall
I’m not safe here
Cold dark stares
As I’m walking the other path
No one there
I turned my head and body back
Do you care
That I’m falling into the cracks
I’m not safe here
No ones
Around
You can’t
Leave now
Black is beautiful. Inside outside. This band is superb. As a huge Sabbath fan I love the low tuned riffs, as well as the hardcore speed moments, short as they are: but it's exactly that which keeps it so damn interesting. Also love the interplays full of sweetness or speeches about black culture and being black within white domination. Still some things to learn. This is the real life in music form. Let's celebrate. Wonderful dramatic opening, the voice of a black woman in all her honesty, vulnerability and openess. And then one of the fiercest tracks of Zulu, total hardcore: 'Now they are through with me', full of twists and turns, and suddenly ending in a kind of soul-track, brilliant! This is 21st century music at it's best. The end lecture is dramatic and disturbing, spoken again by a black woman. Makes you think. Hesperus
Bluesy protopunk in the great Detroit tradition by the city's own the Stools, with dashes of the Stooges, Negative Approach, and the Gories. Bandcamp New & Notable May 25, 2023
